VisionBox Foundation was founded to help people with
eye care that cannot afford the low costs offered in
the practices. We have a strict criteria and guidelines to
ensure the right people are helped and no resources are wasted.
Clear vision changes lives.
Less that 8% of optometrists in South Africa work in the public sector, trying to assist almost 80% of the population (around 42 million people). Unfortunately almost half of the population live below the upper-bound poverty line of R1227 per month, meaning basic eye care is a luxury and not something they can afford. Our foundation is trying to assist government and other NGO’s the give more people clear vision. Below are only some of the recently 400+ people that received new glasses due to our collaboration with L’Occitane South Africa.
